Me Made Months Practice

I really wanted to take part this time  but I didn't think I'd have enough to wear so I thought I'd have a little practice run. Here's the first outfit I put together. It's all Me Made.(even the knickers) I made the skirt and top when I had only just started sewing so they aren't exactly perfect and I guess I might not choose this outfit if I could wear anything I want but It's perfectly wearable so it should be worn.

I really hate the horrible brown carpet  but the landlord doesn't so we're not getting a new one in a hurry. It actually looks better on the picture then it does in reality.

  1. your outfit looks lovely. Very Glam. You seem to have the same reasons as me for not doing a whole month of me made. Maybe me made and second hand I'd have enough to wear then :)

  2. Thank you Claire! Yes if it included second hand/vintage I'd be fine because I can't remember when I last bought anything new except for the obvious like underwear but I'm sewing a lot of at the moment so I'm hoping I'll have enough soon.

  4. You should have had a go!I am glad I did...and am determined to finish the challenge with at least one me made item per day.Looking a bit dodgy though!

  5. I know.I wish I had now! the thing is I'm an bit of a perfectionist so I don't always get thing done quickly and I really don't have that much. I guess that's why I'm having a practise run to see how I would manage. I gather that for the next Me Made what I need is a weeks worth of clothes preferably coordinating items. and I need to concentrate on useful practical items.one thing I leant from moving home rather more often then I'd like as I hate moving is that you only need one weeks worth of clothing (as long as you have a washing machine off course)

  6. I really like this outfit. I like Claire's idea of doing a mixture of me-made and second-hand clothes - that seems like a good compromise!
